US Army Corp of Engineers Campgrounds on
Lake Ouachita
Located on the Ouachita River in the Ouachita Mountains of west central Arkansas, the lake is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest and private timberlands. Unsurpassed scenic beauty, excellent fishing, water sports of all kinds and a prolific area for
rock hounds are just a few of the natural attractions of this area. The Lake Ouachita project includes 66,324 total acres of land and water. The dam is 1,100 feet long with an average height of 205 feet. There are 20,000 acres of land at the project which are open to the public for hunting. There are 21 recreation areas with 150 picnic sites, 1,106 campsites, 24 boat ramps and 13 swimming beaches.

Big Fur

Location: 6 miles northeast of Mount Ida on State 27, 6 miles east on State 188, then 4 miles east on gravel road.
Facilities: Vault toilets, water, boat ramp, tables, grills.

Crystal Springs
48 RV / Tent with water and electricity, 26 Tent - $14 to $15 per night, depending on the site selected, April 1 - October 31. $5 to $9 per night in the off season. Reservations can be made by telephone up to 30 days in advance from May 12 - September 30. Call (501) 991-3390.
Location: 15 miles west of Hot Springs on U.S. 270, then 2 miles north on access road.

Lake Ouachita Shores Resort

Joplin (Mountain Harbor)

Little Fir

US Forest Service Campgrounds - Ouachita
More than 2.5 million acres of forest land included within the three National Forests in Arkansas. The US Forest Service has developed campgrounds at scenic points in these woodlands. Most of these campgrounds are located in ruggedly beautiful mountainous terrain, and are designed to blend into the landscape to preserve the forest atmosphere. There are 35 developed recreation areas, 7 scenic areas, 43 vistas, 5 float camps, 11 shooting ranges, 2 historical sites, 6 wildernesses, 1 national recreation area, and over 700 miles of trails. Located in west central Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma, the forest offers visitors a myriad of opportunities for either one day trips or extended vacations filled with relaxation and enjoyment.

Albert Pike
